PCB mounting adapter: design & fit notes

This original PETG adapter matches one small circuit board to an existing enclosure whose mounting holes differ. One plate per quantity; board, enclosure, machine bolts, nuts, washers and enclosure screws are separate. Standard standoffs, stock adapters and drilled sheet can cost less when suitable.

View from the board’s component side in the installed position, X right and Y up. Measure board-hole centers from its bottom-left corner, and enclosure-hole centers from the plate’s bottom-left corner. Enter the board’s position on the plate separately. Pair every X list entry with the Y entry in the same position. Each pattern accepts two to six centers; counts may differ. Mirror tracings from below.

Enter the finished plate width and length with enclosure clearance already allowed. The plate needs a flat supporting surface or sound existing mounting bosses. Raised supports set the board underside above the plate. Measure the deepest component or solder projection below the board; the customizer reserves at least 2 mm beneath it. Each support must meet a component-free mounting area. Check connectors, copper, washers, nuts, overhanging cables and the enclosure lid separately. The solid plate reduces airflow below the board.

Use 90° flat-head machine bolts from the underside, with washers and nuts above the board. Recessed bolt seats narrow upward at 45° for printing. Assemble the board, bolts, washers and nuts while you can hold each bolt head from below, then fasten the complete assembly through the accessible enclosure holes. Check that actual heads sit flush. Bolt length must cover the full plate/support height, board thickness, washers, nut and thread engagement. The enclosure uses ordinary pan-head screws in separate through bores, outside the board footprint for access. All hardware is separate; printed threads, captive nuts and heat-set inserts are not required.

The actual rounded plate edge is checked around all bores, supports and head seats. Guards preserve 1.6 mm around support bores, 1.2 mm of plate above the underside seats, 2 mm between supports/heads, and access beyond the board footprint. Vertical bores use 64 tangent facets to preserve the requested minimum diameter. The preview and STL come from the same locally generated solid.

Print the broad plate bottom down with supports up: PETG, 100% infill and a 0.4 mm nozzle, without supports. The complete part must fit the 245 mm usable envelope within the Bambu A1’s 256 mm bed; check any added brim separately. Material volume and surface area include every support, bore and countersink, and checkout validates measurements and recalculates the price. The default 120 × 95 mm plate costs $16 before shipping and tax.

Indoor low-voltage hobby boards only. No mains, hot power electronics, outdoor/sealed use, brand compatibility, load, thermal, electrical or fire rating. Physical print and fit testing are pending. Presets are measured examples, not compatibility promises.
