Card-box insert: design & fit notes

This original open insert fits a measured rectangular box recess and one to five columns of sleeved decks, in one or two rows. Each column accepts its own measured sleeve width. Every well has the same length, based on the box and row count.

Measure the smallest inside recess dimensions. Total box clearance is subtracted once from both width and length; half falls on each side. Measure from the inside box bottom to the underside of the closed lid, including boards or components above the insert. Lid clearance is subtracted from that depth. Floor thickness is then subtracted to show usable deck stack depth.

Use actual outside sleeve dimensions rather than a brand’s nominal card size. Minimum sleeve clearance is added once to width and length. Extra available width is shared equally between columns, retaining the order of your width list. The customizer rejects wells too small for your measurements; the displayed finished wells let you check the result before ordering.

Compare the thickest actual deck with usable stack depth. Sleeves vary, so no card-count capacity or game-edition fit is assumed. Presets are examples. There is no lid, clip or retention for vertical transport. One insert is supplied per quantity; cards, sleeves and box are separate. Physical print and fit testing are pending.

Print in PLA or PETG at 100% infill with the full floor on the bed. Wells and rounded thumb cutouts open upward and need no supports. Thumb openings follow the floor so the last cards can be reached; an optional raised lip reduces that access. The checks preserve a 1.2 mm floor, 2 mm walls, 4 mm beside each opening, at least 8 mm of stack depth and 4 mm of thumb access. The full insert must fit the store’s 245 mm usable envelope within the Bambu A1’s 256 mm bed.

The default insert costs $18 in PLA or $20.70 in PETG before shipping and tax. Pricing uses the dimension-generated solid volume and surface area, including the floor, unequal dividers and thumb openings, with existing material and machine rates. The server validates measurements and recalculates pricing at checkout.
