Bolt-on dust port: design & fit notes

This original screw-mounted port replaces a flat rectangular flange or connects a workshop dust box to a measured round hose cuff. It has four straight through-holes on a rectangular pattern and one straight round connection. One PETG port per quantity; gasket, screws and washers are separate. It complements the store’s slip-on adapters when mounting holes need to be matched.

Measure the available flat mounting face, both center-to-center screw spacings, through-hole diameter and the largest screw head or washer. The pattern is centered on the flange. Port offsets move the circular bore from the flange center: positive X is right and positive Y is up when looking into the hose connection. Curved faces, unequal hole patterns, recessed screws and angled ports need a different design.

For a socket, measure the cuff’s outside diameter: the designed inside diameter adds the selected clearance once. For a spigot, measure the cuff’s inside diameter: the outside subtracts clearance once. These are straight slip fits without threads, latches, taper, stop or clamp bead. Circular profiles have 192 facets; their minimum inside diameter is displayed. Measure actual parts instead of relying on nominal hose sizes.

The machine or dust box opening must expose the entire displayed round bore, with solid mounting material behind each screw and flat gasket contact under the flange. Compare these to your own opening; the customizer does not model that opening. A small hose limits airflow even on a large flange. Preserve machine guards and clearance from moving parts. Use pan-head screws, avoid overtightening and support the hose separately.

The builder leaves at least 3 mm from hose wall to flange edge, 3 mm from each screw bore to edge, 1.5 mm beyond each screw head and 1.5 mm between heads and the hose wall. The last check allows straight tool access for a tool no wider than the selected head or washer diameter. Minimum walls are 2.4 mm; minimum flange thickness is 3 mm. The full part must fit the store’s 245 mm usable envelope inside the Bambu A1’s 256 mm bed.

Print flange-down with the hose tube up, PETG at 100% infill, without supports. The default port is $18 before shipping and tax. Pricing follows generated material volume and surface area, including the flange, bore, screw holes and cuff walls. Wall thickness changes the price at fixed outside dimensions in spigot mode. The server validates dimensions and recalculates the price at checkout.

Dry woodworking dust at room temperature only. Physical print, fit and airflow testing are pending; collection performance is unrated. Presets are example dimensions and do not promise brand compatibility. The research supports custom mounting and hose-fit problems; demand for this exact design is unproven.
